Trevillage is a social enterprise that’s focusing on local community development to empower and improve the quality of lives of people in Indonesian villages through tourism. We develop the local community itself by conducting the research, creating the development plan, educating, and actively engaging the local community through capacity building spaces in hospitality, business, and management. We position the tourism as the alternative sector for people in the village to work on, so they can build their own village and make ends meet without traveling or moving to the big cities. We believe that tourism is a strong driver that can contribute most sectors of the economy. Our first project started on 2018 in Toboali, South Bangka, Indonesia where we identified the people in Bangka Island mostly live from the tin mining sector. Bangka and Belitung produce 90% of Indonesia's tin, and Indonesia is the world's second-largest exporter of the metal. While mining is wrecking the environment and every year it claims dozens of more lives. We have a mission to educate the people in Bangka and change the community mindset that mining isn’t the only focus of income. Trevillage is founded by two passionate people in community-based-on-tourism.
