Learn a little bit about this organization

Spring Foundation Uganda is a community-based organisation non-political and not for profit organisation established in January 2015 to empower communities to be able to handle challenges affecting them. The term ‘’spring’’ was derived from the beautiful weather season in the northern hemisphere (Australia) when every living thing regains a sense of life after a long spell of the winter season. That is when you see plants flowering meaning Spring Foundation Uganda is intended to change and improve the social and economic conditions of communities in Uganda. The idea for establishment of this organisation arose from Ms. Nambatya Alice Kivumbi – the Founder and Director. During her two years of study in Australia, while living and working in the suburbs of this country and beautiful continent, she realised that Uganda and Australia were two-worlds apart in terms of social and economic development as stated, “I realised that developed economies like Australia were doing very well in terms of education, health, human rights promotion and protection, environmental conservation, community settlements, infrastructure and governance because of the positive commitment of their governments and the citizenry towards development as compared to Uganda”.
