The UNAS - Union of Nuclei, Residents Associations of Heliopolis and Region is a nonprofit entity decreed of Federal Public Utility, appeared in the mid-1980s as a committee of residents of the favela Heliópolis composed of representatives of each nucleus of the community who fought for the Right to housing and land tenure. In our work we believe in the person as a subject of rights independent of age, strengthening their autonomy for the effectiveness of citizenship, thus seeking to break the invisible walls that separate the peripheries of the other districts of the city. To this end, we seek partnerships with public, private and social organizations, ensuring support for the implementation of projects, programs and services in a comprehensive manner in the areas of education, health, housing, culture, sports, social assistance, entrepreneurship, women, youth and Lgbt, based on our principles and having education as an instrument of emancipation impacting more than 12 thousand people directly per month, through 50 social projects
