9 million golfer are afflicted by something called the yips: An acute movement disorder, triggered by maladaptive behaviour and cramping. Tyche was founded with the intention to develop, produce and market innovative training solutions to treat task-specific dystonia (TSD) in golf, also known as “yips”. Yips is a movement disorder characterized by a spontaneous breakdown of a once perfectly executable, fine motor skill, which manifests by involuntary movements induced by tremor or spasm. Tyche is the first company, which is able to offer a BtC product to treat ‘yips’. The product is based on a ready for home-use training device enabling affected golfers to unlearn their maladaptive behaviour and furthermore to relearn a normal functioning movement/stroke. Currently, the product development is in its final steps and the preparations for market entry in the DACH region and the USA shifting into the main focus.
