Arise And Shine Uganda (AASU) is a community based organization founded in 2010 by Sharon Nyanjura with the vision of ‘a world where every person has access to quality education, thereby enabling sustainable development’. Our goal is to ‘give orphans, vulnerable children and adults higher living standards, through quality education’. We successfully use education to transform the lives of vulnerable children and adults in our intervention area. We are active in the east of Uganda, with our head office in Jinja town and several interventions in Jinja and Kamuli district. AASU uses a four-part approach to bring about the sustainable community development. This includes our (1) primary school, (2) community education, (3) and income generated projects located in Kibuye Village, and (4) Babies Home located in Jinja.
