Santa Maria is an universitary city, with 7 universities with many young people and being always a refreshed city. However, there are some difficulties related to the basic educational system and support of Third Sector organization here. Trying to solve them all and make it a better place to live, we have the ~GLOBAL COMMUNITY PROJECT~. CHECK OUT OUR ONLINE BOOKLET HERE - for videos, pictures, more information: ---------------http://igcdpsantamaria.wix.com/bookletaiesecsm The project aims to introduce to the young students of the community a global vision and new perspectives for their future. To achieve that, the trainees will visit them and their family at their house. Introducing different cultures, customs and traditions, so the family will have a greater knowledge about the world. Furthermore, it will bring even more internationalism into the community. Week 1: Presentation of the exchange students and families, addressing more personal aspects such as their history, countries of origin, hobbies, daily, etc. Week 2: Presentation of the countries of origin of the exchange students; Geographic location, general information as well as address cultural aspects, traditions, customs. Work with great commitment, developing young leaders inside everyone who is “touched” by the Project. Work as a facilitator in some situations, for example, translator (English to Spanish, or so). Always putting the NGO’s interest at first place instead of traveling/partying. Get to know the NGO at the beginning of the internship. Understand its necessity, public and mission to better develop your work. Also, you will be invited to participate in Global Village events, representing his culture and country (for it should bring materials for presentations (flags, books, music, etc). For the sustainability of the project, you have to make one report at the 3rd week and another one at the last week of your internship.
