Project
The host organization is a school located in the province of Vicenza. The school covers various age groups, so the volunteer will have the opportunity to interact with boys and girls aged 8 to 13 with different levels of language proficiency. Specific language information: English is taught in Italy starting from primary school (children aged 8 to 13); Spanish and German are taught in middle school (ages 11 to 13), so the activities to be prepared must be suitable and proportionate to the age group. The Spanish and/or German language teacher will be assigned as their primary point of contact. Together, they will organize lessons for the students. The activities requested by the teachers will range from theoretical to game-based/playful; additionally, they will be asked to prepare an evaluation sheet to assess student learning in the two languages (English–German or English–Spanish, depending on the volunteer's background). Volunteers will spend their working hours in three ways: part of the time preparing activities independently in the two required languages, part of the time supporting the teacher during lessons, and part of the time teaching lessons independently.
