Project Activities

Week 1
Do small tasks: setting up and clearing away, preparing materials, tidying.
Meet the coordinator and the team, and get a tour of the site and materials.
Ask what the association does, who it works with (children, schools, groups), and what you’re expected to do.
Sort out any paperwork: volunteer agreement, a Führungszeugnis if you’ll work with children, safety briefing.
Shadow sessions and take notes on how activities run, the routines, and the tone with participants.
Week 2
Take on fixed responsibilities, such as preparing a station, welcoming groups, or looking after a small group.
Help with practical work like building, material prep or outdoor upkeep.
Learn the safety rules, including allergies, weather plans and first aid procedures.
Ask for brief feedback at the end of the week.
Week 3
Co-lead a session or activity with an experienced team member.
Suggest a small idea: a game, a craft, or a short nature topic.
Notice what is missing or inefficient and note it down.
Help with communication such as photos for social media, posts or flyers, if the team wants that.
Week 4
Hold a feedback talk with your coordinator: what went well, what could improve, and whether you could stay on.
Lead an activity or task independently, with backup available.
Finish what you started and document it, for example a short how-to, a materials list, or notes for the next volunteer.
