Project
Music Without Borders: Discover the Rhythm Music Without Borders is a four-week Global Volunteer project in Sfax, Tunisia, designed to introduce children aged 6–12 to music through interactive, creative, and culturally enriching activities. The project creates a welcoming environment where children can explore rhythm, sound, singing, movement, and musical expression while discovering how music connects people across cultures. Through rhythm games, group singing, body percussion, simple musical instrument activities, listening exercises, and collaborative performances, children will have opportunities to develop their creativity, confidence, listening skills, and ability to work with others. International volunteers will collaborate with the local organization to prepare and facilitate age-appropriate activities that encourage participation, experimentation, and self-expression. Volunteers will also introduce musical traditions from their home countries, allowing children to discover different cultures and musical styles while celebrating their own heritage. No previous musical training is required for participating children. Activities will be adapted to their abilities and to the instruments and materials available. By the end of the project, children are expected to demonstrate greater confidence in musical expression, improved awareness of rhythm and sound, and increased participation in collaborative creative activities. Discover the rhythm. Express yourself. Connect through music.
