Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Learn about the general context of Cascina Biblioteca specifically the "shared gardens" project, and meet with the various stakeholders, including the Cooperative's managers, volunteer artists, and students.
An in-depth analysis of the reasons why participation in the project and identification with the Cooperative has declined over time
Space for alignment between the volunteer and the organization to evaluate the activities to be carried out and analyze SDG goal #13 in relation to the local context.
Creation of educational and support materials to be used during the subsequent weeks of the project.
Week 2
Introducing SDG 13 to project beneficiaries through an initial assessment of their knowledge about climate change and its causes.
Conducting research activities focused on the climate impacts produced and experienced by the local community.
Address the pressing operational issues underlying the disaffection, starting with the construction of a tool shed and a compost bin for plant waste.
Carrying out practical restoration work, including repairing the garden fence where it is broken.
Week 3
Continuation of the maintenance activities necessary to restore the shared gardens to their original splendor.
Organizing discussion spaces on the research conducted and conducting a workshop dedicated to the "three Rs of ecology" and the topic "How can we act on climate change?"
Creation of a new herb garden and seedbed, accompanied by the arrangement of paths and walkways.
Week 4
Evaluation of the results obtained from the point of view of remotivation and reintegration of the group of artists participating in the project.
Discussion on individual ecological footprints and organization of a final event to raise community awareness on environmental issues.
Creation of a survey to collect data from beneficiaries, analysis of the results obtained, and creation of the final project report.
Practical assessment of the impact of the activities carried out on the perception of external visitors to the Cascina.
