The project aims to impact SDG #10 by fostering educational spaces on the basics of inequality as well as promoting local initiative to tackle discrimination and inequality in the community

Project Activities

Week 1
Life storytelling circle (“memories from your life”)
Buddy system matching for ongoing support
Group agreement creation (safe space rules and expectations)
Workshop: Understanding Loneliness and Well-being in Daily Life
Icebreaker community session: “Getting to Know You” games
Week 2
Arts & crafts workshop (traditional handmade skills like embroidery, knitting, woodwork)
Preparation of traditional recipes (e.g., local desserts, breads, preserves)
Music & sing-along session with traditional songs & group board games and social interaction time
Cultural sharing session (regional traditions, festivals, family customs)
Photo storytelling activity (“important moments of my life”)
Week 3
Discussion: “What traditions should we not lose?"l session (youth volunteers visiting and interacting)
Workshop on preserving local traditions and cultural heritage
Hands-on traditional activity session (e.g., cheese-making like Serra da Estrela cheese, bread baking, olive oil traditions, weaving)
Intergenerational workshop: elders teaching traditional skills to youth volunteers
Shared cooking/meal using traditional recipes
Week 4
Workshop: Passing down knowledge and staying socially active
Creation of a “community memory book” (stories, recipes, traditions collected)
Intergenerational showcase event (elderly teaching traditional skills)
Closing celebration with traditional food, music, and storytelling
Reflection circle: sharing memories and project experience
