The project aims to impact SDG #15 by building up communities' capacity to respond and act upon the degradation of natural habitat, diversity loss, and the protection of wildlife.

Life On Land - Target 15.5

Take urgent and significant action to reduce the degradation of natural habitats, halt the loss of biodiversity and, by 2020, protect and prevent the extinction of threatened species.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Participate in the clinic induction and learn about daily operations, safety, and animal welfare protocols.
Assist with feeding, handling, and providing basic care for animals under the supervision of veterinary professionals.
Observe routine veterinary consultations and become familiar with common procedures.
Week 2
Prepare examination rooms, organize equipment, and maintain a clean clinical environment.
Assist with post-treatment monitoring and ensure animals are comfortable during recovery.
Support the veterinary team during health check-ups and basic medical procedures.
Week 3
Observe different surgical procedures and learn about pre-operative and post-operative care.
Help monitor animals after surgery and contribute to their recovery process.
Assist the veterinary team by preparing surgical materials and maintaining sterile working conditions.
Week 4
Reflect on the learning experience, receive feedback from the veterinary team, and contribute to ensuring high standards of animal welfare.
Take a more active role in assisting with daily clinic activities under professional supervision.
Continue supporting animal care, treatments, and surgical procedures while applying the knowledge gained throughout the project.
