The project aims to impact SDG 4.7 by equipping youth with critical thinking, emotional intelligence, social skills, and sustainable practices through a holistic educational approach. Integrating interdisciplinary learning, social-emotional and wellness education, as well as community engagement, it fosters well-rounded individuals ready to address real-world challenges and promote global citizenship.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
The volunteer familiarizes themselves with the robotics equipment, safety procedures, and workshop materials.
The volunteer integrates into the team and prepares to support future robotics workshops.
The volunteer observes ongoing sessions and facilitation techniques used with different age groups.
The volunteer learns how robotics activities contribute to developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The volunteer is introduced to the DISCOVER portfolio, its objectives, and its educational approach.
Week 2
The volunteer facilitates hands-on activities that encourage experimentation and technical discovery.
The volunteer promotes curiosity, logical reasoning, and collaborative learning during workshops.
The volunteer supports participants in assembling and testing basic robotic components.
The volunteer explains the relationship between sensors and reactions through simple examples.
The volunteer introduces participants to basic robotics concepts, including sensors, motors, and simple circuits.
Week 3
The volunteer ensures safe and effective use of all materials and equipment.
The volunteer guides participants in designing and building simple robotics projects.
The volunteer supports troubleshooting and helps participants identify solutions to technical challenges.
The volunteer facilitates activities involving sensors, LEDs, and motors within practical applications.
The volunteer encourages participants to apply critical thinking throughout the project development process.
Week 4
The volunteer helps participants explain the technical logic behind their creations.
The volunteer facilitates testing, final improvements, and project refinement.
The volunteer encourages teamwork, creativity, and confidence during presentations.
The volunteer evaluates learning outcomes and promotes reflection on technology as a tool for sustainable innovation.
The volunteer prepares participants to present and demonstrate their robotics projects.
