Project
The project aims to contribute to SDG #4.7 by providing and opening spaces for inclusive and equitable quality education for children from disadvantaged villages. We focus on fostering intercultural understanding and breaking down language barriers by offering children access to educational and cultural activities, as volunteers visit multiple villages during the project duration.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Working Hour — A session for Exchange Participant to connect and sync up on their upcoming teaching plans. A space to share ideas, align expectations, and discuss what each person is preparing, so everyone can move forward with clearer direction
Planning Evaluation — A session to review past activities and align the next steps
Curriculum Planning & Simulation — Preparation space for EP and LV to design, align, and rehearse the educational activities before classroom implementation. In this session, volunteers create lesson plans for foreign language and culture using informal and play-based learning methods, prepare intercultural activities, develop initial assessment tools, and simulate classroom delivery to ensure materials are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with project objectives.
Incoming Preparation Seminar — Seminar held by Host Entity to deliver AIESEC's value to introduce Exchange Participant about culture in Indonesia especially Semarang, and explanation about whole project (Living cost, Indonesian Culture, Project Management)
Partner Onboarding: Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project .
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
City Introduction — Bonding and strolling activities around the city to learn more about the culture and riches of Semarang City
Week 2
Organizing and presenting sessions about foreign cultures, e.g. creating artworks and crafts about different cultures, dancing traditional dances and cooking traditional food
Visiting villages and children with a frequency of about 2 villages per week, taking care of buses and environment
Taking care of and playing with the beneficiaries (e.g. plays from different cultures), creating games (e.g. red light green light, musical chair) and friendly atmosphere, e.g. doing storytelling
Organizing English or own foreign language classes for the beneficiaries based on play
Debrief meeting with the partner at the end of each week

Journey of The Project — Reflection session for EPs to evaluate their personal contribution and the overall impact of the project, assessing whether the initial goals and impact targets have been fulfilled. Through guided discussion and self-reflection tools, EPs review learning outcomes, challenges faced, cultural exchange experiences, and measurable progress of beneficiaries to ensure alignment between planned objectives and actual implementation

Week 6
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Closing day with beneficiaries (weekly)
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
Debrief — A closing and farewell session for Exchange Participant to reflect on their journey, appreciate their contributions, acknowledge their impact, and officially end the project
Farewell and Final Report session with OP Taker — Final reporting and farewell session with beneficiaries to present the progress and evaluation of literacy development throughout the project. The session also includes a closing teaching activity and reflection with students, along with a brief assessment to highlight their understanding of the science topics covered.
Culture Class (12th Session) — Teaching activity to the kids, and conduct initial assessment with learners to measure the knowledge of the Exchange Participant's culture topic to be cover by the project
Foreign Language Class (11th Session) — Foreign Language Class is an interactive teaching session where Exchange Participant facilitate fun, play-based learning activities to introduce and strengthen beneficiaries' foreign language skills (mainly English)
