Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Week 1 — Learn the brand and tools Spend the first week absorbing before you produce anything. Study existing content across all channels — social media, blog, newsletters — and get a feel for the tone, style, and audience. Learn which tools the team uses for scheduling, editing, and collaboration. Meet everyone involved in the content process, from writers to designers to whoever approves posts. By the end of the week you should understand what kind of content gets made, who it's for, and how it moves from idea to publication
Week 2
Week 2 — Start creating Begin producing your first pieces of content, but with close feedback from the team. Write a few social posts, draft a short article, or put together a simple visual — whatever fits your role. The goal isn't perfection, it's getting used to the workflow: drafting, reviewing, revising, and publishing. Pay attention to how the team gives feedback and start developing an instinct for what fits the brand and what doesn't.
Week 3
Week 3 — Own a content stream Take responsibility for one channel or content type on your own. Plan a week's worth of posts, write and schedule them, and track how they perform. Get involved in brainstorming sessions and start pitching your own ideas. Learn how to read basic analytics — reach, engagement, clicks — and use them to inform what you create next. By now you should be contributing meaningfully to the content calendar rather than just filling gaps.
Week 4
Week 4 — Collaborate and grow Work more closely with the wider team — coordinate with designers, align with marketing campaigns, and understand how content fits into the bigger business picture. Take part in a content planning meeting and help shape the strategy for the coming month. Finish with a review of what you've published so far: what worked, what didn't, and what you want to do differently going forward.
