The project aims to impact SDG #13 by educating communities about climate change and building action plans to reduce critical factors affecting the environment.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Foundational session covering climate change concepts (greenhouse effect, global warming drivers), global plastic pollution data, and discussion on vulnerability in developing countries, followed by reflective journaling
Evaluation of school engagement outcomes, discussion of strengths and challenges, drafting weekly report, and leadership reflection circle.
Interactive session including ice breaking, waste sorting game, practical eco enzyme activity, and impact documentation through observation and feedback
Training on how to deliver 3R concepts to elementary students, simulation of waste sorting games, and finalization of eco enzyme learning materials.
Introduction to Green Leaders vision, intercultural ice breaking, environmental pre-test assessment, and overview of SDGs with focus on SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action)
Week 2
Training on effective communication strategies for elementary students, including micro-teaching simulations and peer feedback.
Presentation on the city’s waste management system, policy discussion, and Q&A session regarding Medan’s environmental challenges.
Conducting bottle greenhouse experiment, building mini wind turbines, and delivering practical energy-saving education
Simulation of greenhouse effect experiment, preparation of visual aids, and finalization of teaching materials.
Discussion on urban flooding, waste management systems in Indonesian cities, and analysis of the role of local government in environmental governance.
Week 3
Compilation of waste audit results, infographic creation, and drafting of simplified policy recommendations based on findings
Learning session on microplastics, food chain impacts, and Indonesian case studies related to marine pollution.
Safety briefing, waste audit team division, and explanation of data recording methodology for coastal waste analysis
Session on circular economy principles, designing impactful environmental projects, and preparation of media-based awareness campaigns
Coastal waste audit, beach clean-up activity, microplastic awareness discussion, and structured reflection circle.
Week 4
Supporting elementary students in poster creation and presentation rehearsal for environmental campaign.
Student presentations, Green Pledge signing, documentation of impact, and final engagement assessment
Finalization of project report, waste audit documentation, policy recommendations, and stakeholder presentation rehearsal.
Presentation of project outcomes to stakeholders, submission of waste audit report and recommendations, post-test environmental knowledge assessment, and closing ceremony
Discussion on circular economy, green entrepreneurship, and strategies for community empowerment and long-term sustainability
