The project aims to impact SDG #8 by providing young people with soft and hard skills trainings, needed to qualify for a decent job, and career guidance.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Content Planning Kickoff - Draft monthly content calendar, Identify themes (food highlights, behindthe-scenes, offers)
Digital & Brand Audit - Review current social media, website, and feedback, Analyze competitor strategies
Company & Outlet Familiarization - Visit all 3 outlets (Galle, Welipanna, Ella), Meet outlet managers, Understand menu, customer base, and competitors
Week 2
Workshop: Introduction to Soft and Hard Skills
Coordinate sessions with individual participants to identify what skills they want to develop. Set up a PDP with them.
Workshop: Exploring Career Paths and Employability in the 21st Century
Marketing Strategy - Plan weekly campaigns (promotions, seasonal menus),Suggest engagement ideas (giveaways, polls)
Content Creation Setup - Build photo & video library of food items and outlets, Define brand tone & style
Workshop: Empowering Futures - introduction to SDG 8
Assessment of their current hard and soft skills: where can they improve?
Initial Rollout - Launch professional posts on social media
Week 3
Social Media Campaigns - Run outlet-specific promotions, Post daily/alternate-day with reels, photos, stories
Activity: introspection space for participants to realize their own strengths and weaknesses and identify what soft skills they have and what can they improve.
Soft skill workshops based on demands and needs of participants. (communication, leadership, problem solving, adaptability, time management etc)
Activity: Create a space for beneficiaries to assess and provide feedback on soft skills like communication and teamwork, identifying areas for improvement.
Activity: Creative brainstorming sessions to foster innovation and adaptability in addressing complex challenges.
Development spaces (games, dynamics, role play, roundtables, etc) about soft skills development: solution oriented, world citizen, empowering others, self awareness
Offline Support - Coordinate in-house marketing (posters, table branding, tent cards
Customer Engagement - Reply to comments/messages
Week 4
Partnerships - Collaborate with local influencers & food bloggers
Offer workshops that cover foundational digital skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, digital collaboration) alongside those focused on high-demand skills (e.g., programming, entrepreneurship).
Provide access to online platforms where beneficiaries can take assessments to evaluate their proficiency in various hard skills. Follow up with personalized learning plans based on assessment results.
Organize group discussions where participants share best practices related to specific hard skills.
Activity: Skill-specific mentorship sessions where professionals mentor small groups of participants, giving hands-on guidance and advice on honing hard skills like data analysis, digital marketing, or project management.
Activity: introduce the beneficiaries to professionals from different work fields, so that youth can learn more about the diversity of job opportunities and their needed hard skills
Analytics Review - Track reach & engagement, Identify top-performing content
Improvement Actions - Adjust content calendar, Propose targeted ads (FB)
Week 5
Workshop: Self Branding. How to "sell" yourself?
Ensure that beneficiaries participation of local online and physical job fairs.
Plan a Career Day event where professionals from diverse fields discuss their roles, share career insights, and answer beneficiaries' questions about job opportunities.
Practice: Let participants do mock application procedures and give them feedback on the output
Customer Loyalty - Collect database for What Sapp/SMS/email promos
Community Engagement - Organize a local event/theme night, Promote pre- & post-event
Content Boost - Create storytelling content (chef interviews, kitchen highlights, reels)
Workshop: Application procedures. How to create a CV, write motivation letter and do an interview?
Week 6
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Long-Term Strategy - Propose quarterly content & promotions calendar, Recommend branding & ad improvements
Finalization - Deliver content library, guidelines, and 3–6 month marketing roadmap
Closing day with beneficiaries
Comprehensive Review - Present growth report (social media, campaigns, engagement, ROI)
