Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Competitor analysis and research emerging travel trends.
Planning session for promotional activities, begin basic market research.
Arrival; welcome, team introduction, company vision, and safety briefing.
Onboarding workshop, understanding services; digital platforms.
Tour 1: Familiarization tour around Negombo; Colombo, capture initial content. [Transport provided by the opportunity provider]
Training on creating engaging travel content, set up content calendar.
Week 2
Workshop on “Digital Presence for Tourism”.
Workshop to discuss market findings and campaign ideas.
Draft preliminary digital marketing plan.
Tour 2: Explore cultural sites near Colombo/Negombo for content. [Transport provided by the opportunity provider]
Develop influencer outreach plan for Lanka Getaways.
Collaborate on paid ad strategies for Facebook/Instagram.
Week 3
Tour 3: One-day promotional tour to Kandy [Transport provided by the opportunity provider]
Edit and organize collected media, create social media posts.
Workshop – “Understanding Global Tourist Expectations”.
Tour 4: Visit nearby locations for content. [Transport provided by the opportunity provider]. Record volunteer experience videos for Lanka Getaways.
Prepare creative campaigns for seasonal tours.
Present mid-project marketing ideas to management.
Week 4
Tour 5: One-day promotional trip to Hill Country (Nuwara Eliya/Ella). [Transport provided by the opportunity provider]. Draft plan on how to promote the destination .
Edit and publish Hill Country trip highlights.
Draft the promotional plan. Edit and finalize all campaign material.
Prepare and deliver final presentation to management.
Farewell session; volunteer departure preparations.
