The project aims to contribute to SDG #4 by providing and opening space for quality education for people of all ages, ensuring educational opportunities from initial literacy to other subjects such as mathematics, science and languages.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Preparing events to be held over the coming weeks and receiving feedback from partners and AIESEC
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Week 2
Setting up a buddy system for the beneficiaries to track their development
Continuous English-language interaction with beneficiaries
Conduct weekly cultural sessions about the volunteer’s country
Personal Development Plan creation
Organize a quiz show-style activity where teams of beneficiaries answer questions related to math, vocabulary, or general knowledge.
Dynamic: Introduce beneficiaries to basic vocabulary and phrases in a new language through engaging and interactive games. (eg. Games like Scrabble, Pictionary, or Charades)
Week 3
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Weekly cultural session about the volunteer’s country
Continuous English-language interaction with beneficiaries
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Week 4
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Continuous English-language interaction with beneficiaries
Weekly cultural session about the volunteer’s country
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Week 5
Continuous English-language interaction with beneficiaries
Create a photo report of the internship period: encourage beneficiaries to make a collage of favorite memories
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Week 6
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
Weekly cultural session about the volunteer’s country (final session)
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Closing day with beneficiaries
Final event format: beneficiaries present what they learned (presentations, competitions, etc.)
