Project Youth 4 Impact [8 weeks]
The project aims to impact SDG #4 by generating awareness and fostering engagement towards the sustainable development goals and global citizen values.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Week 2
Workshop: People (SDGs: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
Cultural Sharing: Introduce your home country Present key aspects of your nation’s history, traditions, and lifestyle to broaden students’ global perspectives.
Workshop: What are the SDG? Why are they relevant to my country?
Storytelling: Invite a local SDG advocates to share their story with the students
Group discussion: identify the issues related to SDGs in the local community
Dynamic: create vision boards with the beneficiaries to showcase their hopes and aspirations related to SDGs
Class engagement: Assisting with pronunciation practice ; Join art creation classes
Week 3
Workshop: Peace (SDG: 16)
Workshop: Partnership (SDG: 17)
Roundtable: Discuss about the things learned about SDGs
Class engagement: Participate in sports classes ; Assisting in storybook teaching
Cultural Sharing: Explore cuisine Share stories, demonstrations, or interactive activities related to your country’s food culture, helping students connect with global diversity through cuisine.
Workshop: Prosperity (7, 8, 9, 10)
Workshop: Planet (SDG: 6, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)
Week 4
Debate: Which SDG should be prioritized globally and why? But locally?
Class engagement: Join Taiko drum club practice; Assisting with shared reading activities; Teaching songs
Understanding the SDGs: Engaging in global and local perspectives for community change
Have beneficiaries conduct research on a specific local issue that aligns with a global challenge (e.g., local water quality issues related to SDG 6)
Group the beneficiaries and conduct a photojournalism project where they take photos representing a local issue related to a global challenge.
Screen a documentary or short film that highlights a global issue and its local impact (e.g., "Before the Flood" on climate change)
Week 5
Food experience: preparing and tasting volunteers’ traditional cuisine
Assign beneficiaries to groups, and each group researches one SDG (e.g., SDG 1 – No Poverty, SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 13 – Climate Action).
Impact Mapping Exercise: llustrate the interconnectedness of the SDGs and show how progress in one area can have a ripple effect on others.
Present real-world case studies where communities have implemented initiatives addressing specific SDGs and analyze them with the beneficiaries
Dynamic: Organize an SDG-themed quiz where students answer questions about various SDGs and their impact areas
Have beneficiaries design posters that advocate for a specific SDG and explain why it’s important to focus on that area
Cultural Sharing: Landscapes & attractions Showcase your country’s natural scenery and tourist highlights through presentations, photos, or storytelling to inspire cultural curiosity.
Week 6
Cultural Sharing – Traditional festivals
Workshop: Project Management and Social Impact
Group Challenge: Each group will design a local SDG project/initiative that can easily be implemented at school or in the community. (Example: School SDG podcast, recycling campaign, a community SDG workshop, etc).
Workshop: How to be an advocate in my daily life?
Dynamic: Participants create personal initiatives or commitetment for the SDG to run after project
Build system to track the development of the initiatives that the beneficiaries created
Language Teaching: English conversation practice Design and facilitate engaging activities that allow students to improve their English communication skills in practical, interactive ways.
Class engagement: Join ukulele club practice ; English conversation practice
Week 7
Group Challenge: Run the SDG Day at school/youth center/university to encourage the parents and neighborhood to participate in
Create material to decorate the classroom/school
Culture Sharing: Introducing music from your home country
Class engagement: Storybook sharing ; Participate in farm-to-table and food education activities
Prepare fun SDG related activities and challenges with the beneficiaries.
Prepare the agenda for the event with the help of the students
During the SDG Day, student will present the projects and initiatives they created in the past week.
Week 8
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Farewell event – Local specialty food tasting & student reflection sharing
Class engagement: English conversation practice
Cultural sharing : Introducing national festivals
Closing day with beneficiaries
