Project
The project aims to contribute to SDG #4 by providing and opening space for quality education for people of all ages, ensuring educational opportunities from initial literacy to other subjects such as mathematics, science and languages.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Support the teacher in the classroom
Receive training on how to manage and engage with children
Familiarize yourself with the current lesson plans and learn the necessary skills each week
Observe classes to learn about teaching methods
Get acquainted with the host
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Introduce the materials and explain in detail the sequence of tasks
Week 2
Support physical activity classes, art workshops, role-play, improvisation, cooking classes, and drama.
Encourage natural conversations and build confidence in communication.
Help learners feel safe and open by becoming a companion rather than just an instructor.
Communicate and interact in English with learners before, during, and after class.
Support in looking after learners’ children during class (if needed). Interact with children through simple, fun activities to ensure safety and entertainment.
Help decorate classrooms according to monthly themes or special events. Assist in cleaning up and rearranging the classroom before and after lessons.
Develop ideas for games that help learners practice English listening and speaking skills. Support in preparing materials and keeping the space tidy, friendly, and organized.
Create a comfortable, warm, and friendly atmosphere that connects people through mealtime conversations. Promote cultural exchange between learners and volunteers.
Prepare ingredients together with learners, cook, and socialize during cooking sessions.
Play board games with learners and help them practice English in a natural and fun way.
Organize a quiz show-style activity where teams of beneficiaries answer questions related to math, vocabulary, or general knowledge.
Setting up a buddy system for the beneficiaries to track their development
Setting up a creative systems to increase the math knowledge of the beneficiaries "Creative Math" (puzzles, games, group activities)
Dynamic: Setting up the "Book Club", present the books to be cover during the project and explain the dynamic to the beneficiaries.
Dynamic: Introduce beneficiaries to basic vocabulary and phrases in a new language through engaging and interactive games. (eg. Games like Scrabble, Pictionary, or Charades)
Act as a facilitator, supporting and interacting with small groups.
Week 3
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)

Closing day with beneficiaries
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
