The project aims to impact SDG #5 by fostering educational spaces that generate awareness about gender related issues and build initiatives to work on solutions to stop gender inequality in communities around the globe.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Week 2
Workshop: What does equality means? (explore the concept beyond gender)
Workshop: empowering youth to combat bullying
Workshop: Understanding Microaggressions and Stereotypes - Fostering Inclusive Environments
Week 3
History lesson: women vote and civic participation.
Round-table: Discussion about gender roles, stereotypes and how they influence young people identity and future decisions
Lesson: gender inequality, women and non-conforming people rights.
Week 4
History lesson: outstanding women and gender nonconforming people through time. Their contributions to gender equality.
Personal Action Blueprint: Crafting Your Path to Change - beneficiaries discuss about what will be the actions they take in their personal lives to combat this issue
Workshop: The situation of women leadership on the community (delivered by a female community leader)
Week 5
Plan a school Gender Equality Day with the beneficiaries.
Organize Gender Equality Day and create an after-movie/short video
Prepare presentation to showcase the main learning to parents, school authorities and other students.
Week 6
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Closing day with beneficiaries
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
