Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Planning and implementation of psychosocial strategies with participants.
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Week 2
Plan and create system for campaign outcome data collection.
Create a list of stakeholders that can contribute with the project. Approach those who can realistically contribute to the project.
Preparing workshops/sessions to be delivered in the following weeks.
Alignment spaces with organizations that agreed to be partners to prepare for the activities
Psychological assessments and follow-ups for children and adolescents.
Creating a promotion strategy to increase the presence in the community (online campaigns, use of social media, local events and promotions)
Week 3
Host small group discussions where beneficiaries can talk about their experiences, challenges, and tips for maintaining good mental and physical health. These can be informal and encourage open dialogue.
Workshop: Understanding NCDs
Workshop: The role of mental health in NCD prevention
Workshop: Understanding the impact of sleep on health
Start a social media challenge related to the campaign, such as a "Healthy Habit Challenge" where participants commit to a specific healthy behavior for the week and share their progress online.
Individual psychological attention for prioritized cases.
Week 4
Training and awareness on the institutional child protection policy.
Workshop: The key elements for a healthy lifestyle.
Physical activity: Highlight the benefits of regular exercise, types of physical activity, and how being physically active can reduce the risk of NCDs. Demonstrate basic at-home exercises and activities to keep the body healthy.
Nutrition: Discuss the importance of balanced diets, the role of different food groups, and the impact of unhealthy eating habits on NCDs. (tip: you can bring the partner to deliver the session)
Substance abuse: Address the risks associated with tobacco use and excessive alcohol consumption (or general substance abuse), their impact on NCDs, and strategies for quitting or reducing consumption
Environmental Factors: Discuss how environmental factors such as pollution, access to green spaces etc can influence NCD risk and ways to promote a healthier environment.
Week 5
Engage participants in artistic activities, such as drawing, painting, or writing, to explore and express their emotions.
Social Connection: Highlight the importance of social support networks, healthy relationships, and community involvement for mental well-being and NCD prevention.
Workshop on meditation and journaling: run a meditation session and/or discuss the importance of reading and journaling.
Stress and Anxiety Management: Discuss strategies for recognizing and managing stress and anxiety, including mindfulness techniques, relaxation exercises, and seeking professional support.
Understanding Mental Health: Define mental health, break down common misconceptions, and emphasize the importance of mental well-being in overall health.
Week 6
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Closing day with beneficiaries.
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
