Project
The project aims to contribute to SDG #15 by educating beneficiaries on local ecosystems and sustainable practices. It focuses on promoting biodiversity awareness and teaching ways to protect natural habitats. Through hands-on activities, beneficiaries will learn how to minimize environmental impact and develop a sense of responsibility for conservation.

By 2020, ensure the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems and their services, in particular forests, wetlands, mountains and drylands, in line with obligations under international agreements

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Week 2
Begin preparations for camping by learning and teaching essential activities, safety measures, and ensuring everyone's well-being and comfort in the campsite.
Familiarize the group with the various species and habitats in the camping area, as well as other geographical details of the region and how to protect it
Organize and plan activities for the camp schedule/program (focus on activities that provide living in harmony with the nature and also allowing participants to be deductive, investigative, logical & creative in the nature)
Training to gain wild life necessary skills
Discussion: Exploring Local Environmental Issues and Conservation Strategies
Week 3
Assisting, helping and taking care about safety of beneficiaries at the camp (making sure beneficiaries are under control all the time, keeping an eye on them & shifting with each other to take care of them)
Assisting our instructors with general maintenance of the camp (anything needed to be comfortable to live in the camp & function well)
Teaching about the implementation of other subjects in the nature (dimensions, proportions, navigation, measurements, calculations etc). Showing that mathematics, geography, biology is all around us.
Building awareness of surroundings and ways to minimize negative environmental effect / protect natural habitats
Learning, teaching about & playing methodological (slavic) characters or different characters of novels or popular culture heroes,( for example Robin Hood) with the beneficiaries to activate creativity, teamwork, public speaking etc
Week 4

Week 6
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Closing day with beneficiaries
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
