The project aims to impact SDG #13 by educating communities about climate change and building action plans to reduce critical factors affecting the environment.

Working hours

Monday to Friday, - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Project Activities

  • Week 1
    Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
    Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
    Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
    Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
    Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
  • Week 2
    Round table: Discuss the causes and effects of climate change with the students.
    Documentary viewings about climate change.
    Lab practice: Practical demonstration of greenhouse effect.
    Climate Change Hackathon: let the students come up with solutions and daily practices they can do in order to combat climate change in their community
  • Week 3
    Dynamic: let beneficiaries participate in a community cleanup
    Workshop: The 3 R's of ecology
    Round table: Discussion and sharings about each participants countries reality about climate action initiatives
    Round table: Use the Climate Change Scorecard to discuss ways to reduce greenhouse gas pollution at home and at school.
    Practice: Ask students if they can think of other ways to save energy, reduce pollution or remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Add their ideas to the scorecard.
  • Week 4
    Round Table: Let people calculate their current carbon footprint based on their lifestyle
    Workshop: Carbon footprint and the Butterfly Effect of our daily lifestyle choices to Climate Change. How to be more sustainble at home?
    Practice: engage with the local community to gather insights on their understanding of climate change and the actions they take to address it.
    Dynamic: let beneficiaries participate in a community cleanup
  • Week 5
    Fieldwork: Restore Ecosystems: work with local NGOs and other schools to plant trees or gardens in deforested areas or other designated zones.
    Create a competition/challenge for participants to change their lifestyle (recycling, composting etc
    Build an "Ambassadorship Program" to carryout the activities for next phases to keep long lasting sustainable practices in the school.
    "Earth Hour" Session (WWF). Stopping every activity for an hour.
    Capture and document the fieldwork, then create a reel or post to share on social media, helping to raise awareness and promote the project’s impact.
  • Week 6
    Closing day with beneficiaries
    Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
    Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
    Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
    Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
