Project
The project aims to contribute to SDG #4 by providing and opening space for quality education for people of all ages, ensuring educational opportunities from initial literacy to other subjects such as mathematics, science and languages.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Training on how to manage and engage with project beneficiaries
Design and create educational materials (grammar books, basic numerical books etc. )
Setting up a buddy system for the beneficiaries/learners
Onboarding space with school representative to understand current scenario. What are the main needs of the students? (maths, reading, foreign language, etc)
Determinate measure of outcome system and material to be use
Assist in the collection, transportation, and accompaniment of the children from the shelter to their educational institutions.
Collaborate during meal times, hygiene routines, hand washing, and tooth brushing for the young children, among other tasks that may require support from the team and mothers at the Sonqo Wasi shelter
Week 2
Creating a PDP for each participant and tracking their improvement weekly by a coaching system
Conduct initial assessment with beneficiaries to measure the knowledge of the topics to be cover by the project. (You can also use official data from the school)
Introductory session about the project and presentation of the volunteer to the students
Dynamic: Setting up the "Book Club", present the books to be cover during the project and explain the dynamic to the beneficiaries.
Workshop: The importance of SDG 4
Ensure that the notebooks are up to date
Review the children’s and mothers' school assignments
Week 3
Offer reinforcement in mathematics according to the child's educational level
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Weekly "Book Club" Meeting
Run personalized coaching meeting
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Provide support in the development of school tasks
Week 4
Run personalized coaching meeting
Weekly "Book Club" Meeting
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Teach basic English (numbers, colors, family, greetings, days, months, etc.).
Conduct dynamic reading and comprehension activities
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Week 5
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Weekly "Book Club" Meeting
Run personalized coaching meeting
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Assist in the organization and cleaning of classrooms, patio, garden, and other spaces at the Sonqo Wasi shelter
Seek and propose alternative ideas and initiatives to improve the lives of the children, as well as the women in the Sonqo Wasi shelter, in coordination with the Sonqo Wasi service team
Week 6
Teach basic English (numbers, colors, family, greetings, days, months, etc.)
Analyse data to determinate outcome results (include weekly test on the analysis)
Collect data from project beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Closing: Conduct a closing space for student to showcase what they learn, it can include a challenge or competition among the students (math, reading, speaking, art competition).
Build final project report and present it to AIESEC members and school representatives.
Week 7
