Role
Responsibilities
- supporting consumers to undertake activities of daily living and other instructions related to service delivery as set out in the consumers support plan & service request form (SRF)
- assist consumers with personal hygiene and grooming, i.e. bathing, oral hygiene, and toileting
- laying out clothes and assisting with dressing
- general domestic assistance, including but not limited to assisting with bed making, tidying rooms, assistance with laundry
- preparation, cooking and assistance with meals
- fitting and removal of aids and appliances
- monitoring and prompting medications
- applying first aid and CPR practices where necessary
- assistance with transferring and supporting consumer mobility, including but not limited to the use of hoists, pushing wheelchairs, walkers and transferring consumers into and out of vehicles
- assistance with communication
- accompany consumers on outings and other community access activities as directed
- provide support in meal planning and ordering foodstuffs as directed
- maintain quality service delivery
- delivers services within allocated hours and meets service outcomes, ensuring completion and compliance with time frames and service quality
- support a consumers access to service
- demonstrate an understanding of and respect for individual Consumer cultural diversity in service delivery
- assists in the implementing of strategies relevant to the progressive and variable nature of dementia to minimise the impact of behaviours of concern
