1. Technical Support and Troubleshooting

Task: The intern will assist the IT team in providing technical support for employees. This may involve troubleshooting hardware and software issues, responding to helpdesk tickets, and resolving basic technical problems (e.g., connectivity issues, software installations). 

Expected Result: The intern should resolve a set number of support requests each day, ensuring minimal downtime for employees. They will learn how to identify common IT problems and contribute to the smooth operation of the company’s tech systems.

2. System Maintenance and Monitoring

Task: The intern will help with the monitoring and maintenance of company servers, networks, and devices. They may assist in checking server logs, ensuring software is up-to-date, and performing routine system checks. 

Expected Result: The intern should be able to perform routine system checks and flag any irregularities for further investigation. Their work will help ensure that the company’s systems run smoothly and securely without interruptions.

3. Data Backup and Recovery

Task: The intern will assist in performing regular data backups, ensuring that critical data is stored securely. They may also help with restoring files or systems in the event of an issue or system failure. 

Expected Result: The intern should complete regular backups as scheduled, ensuring that data is securely stored and recoverable in case of emergencies. Their attention to detail will reduce the risk of data loss.

4. Assisting in Software Development or Testing

Task: The intern may be involved in coding tasks or software testing. This could include writing simple scripts, assisting in testing new applications, and documenting software bugs. 

Expected Result: The intern should contribute to the development or testing process by identifying issues, documenting bugs, or writing basic code. They will gain hands-on experience in the software development lifecycle and improve their coding skills.

5. Network Setup and Configuration

Task: The intern will assist with the setup and configuration of network systems, such as routers, switches, and firewalls. They may also help with configuring new employee workstations or managing user access. 

Expected Result: The intern should help configure network devices and assist in onboarding new employees with their tech setups. Their tasks will ensure that the companys network is functional and secure, and new employees have the necessary tools to work efficiently.

6. Documenting IT Procedures and Best Practices

Task: The intern will help document IT processes, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring that there is a clear record of best practices for future reference. 

Expected Result: The intern should create or update documentation that reflects IT processes and policies. This will help maintain consistency in IT operations and provide valuable resources for the team.

7. Security Monitoring and Updates

Task: The intern will assist in monitoring the organizations IT security systems, such as antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. They may also assist in applying security patches and updates to software and operating systems. 

Expected Result: The intern should ensure that the systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and flag any vulnerabilities. Their work will contribute to the overall security of the company's IT infrastructure.
