TASK :
Business Case: Supplier Sustainability Assessment
Background:
Your company is committed to achieving a 30% reduction in carbon emissions from its supply chain by 2030. To support this goal, you need to evaluate and prioritize suppliers based on their environmental impact. The company recently conducted a survey among its top 50 suppliers to
gather information about their sustainability practices.
Objective:
Use the survey results to create a supplier sustainability scorecard and recommend actions to engage suppliers with low scores.
Data Provided:
Survey responses: Details on suppliers' energy efficiency, carbon reduction initiatives, and certifications.
Procurement data: Annual spend and contract duration with each supplier.
Company goals: Focus on reducing emissions while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Resources: Limited budget for supplier engagement and training programs.
Questions to be answered in the application form in a document:
1. Analyze survey results to identify patterns and rank suppliers by their sustainability performance.
2. Propose a scoring system for the supplier sustainability scorecard (e.g., weighting different criteria).
3. Identify 5 priority suppliers to focus on for improvement initiatives.
4. Suggest 2-3 actions to support low-scoring suppliers in meeting sustainabilityexpectations (e.g., training, audits).
5. Draft a simple dashboard concept to track progress toward supply chain emissions reduction goals.
