The project aims to impact SDG #8 by providing young people with soft and hard skills trainings, needed to qualify for a decent job, and career guidance.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Week 2
Workshop: Empowering Futures - introduction to SDG 8
Assessment of their current hard and soft skills: where can they improve?
Workshop: Introduction to Soft and Hard Skills
Coordinate sessions with individual participants to identify what skills they want to develop. Set up a PDP with them.
Workshop: Exploring Career Paths and Employability in the 21st Century
Week 3
Beneficiaries work in groups to analyze real-world case studies that require the application of various soft skills.
Soft skill workshops based on demands and needs of participants. (communication, leadership, problem solving, adaptability, time management etc)
Activity: Create a space for beneficiaries to assess and provide feedback on soft skills like communication and teamwork, identifying areas for improvement.
Activity: Creative brainstorming sessions to foster innovation and adaptability in addressing complex challenges.
Development spaces (games, dynamics, role play, roundtables, etc) about soft skills development: solution oriented, world citizen, empowering others, self awareness
Week 4
Teamwork: Assign groups a time-bound project (e.g., community outreach or problem-solving). They assign roles, manage time, and present results, focusing on teamwork and communication.
Communication and Active Listening: Organize a series of debates where beneficiaries defend different viewpoints on relevant issues (e.g., societal challenges, ethical dilemmas).
Leadership: In small groups, assign a different leader for each task or activity. After each task, the group reflects on the leadership style, decision-making process, and communication effectiveness.
Time Management: Give participants tasks with conflicting deadlines to prioritize, delegate, and manage time. Afterwards, they discuss challenges and improvement strategies.
Critical Thinking: Host a hackathon where beneficiaries quickly develop innovative solutions to specific problems, emphasizing teamwork and the generation of practical ideas.
Week 5
Offer workshops that cover foundational digital skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, digital collaboration) alongside those focused on high-demand skills (e.g., programming, entrepreneurship).
Provide access to online platforms where beneficiaries can take assessments to evaluate their proficiency in various hard skills. Follow up with personalized learning plans based on assessment results.
Organize group discussions where participants share best practices related to specific hard skills.
Activity: Skill-specific mentorship sessions where professionals mentor small groups of participants, giving hands-on guidance and advice on honing hard skills like data analysis, digital marketing, or project management.
Activity: introduce the beneficiaries to professionals from different work fields, so that youth can learn more about the diversity of job opportunities and their needed hard skills
Week 6
Conduct interactive workshops where beneficiaries practice the hard skills learned in the theoretical sessions. (coding exercises, data analysis projects, or digital marketing simulations.)
Assign beneficiaries to work on real-world projects relevant to their fields of interest. (e.g. developing a business plan, creating a website, or designing a marketing campaign)
Organize team projects where beneficiaries collaborate to solve a specific problem or complete a task, such as creating a community service proposal or developing an app.
Allow beneficiaries to teach their peers a specific hard skill they have mastered.
Host sessions where beneficiaries compile and present a portfolio of their work
Week 7
Workshop: Self Branding. How to "sell" yourself?
Workshop: Application procedures. How to create a CV, write motivation letter and do an interview?
Practice: Let participants do mock application procedures and give them feedback on the output
Plan a Career Day event where professionals from diverse fields discuss their roles, share career insights, and answer beneficiaries' questions about job opportunities.
Ensure that beneficiaries participation of local online and physical job fairs.
Week 8
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Closing day with beneficiaries
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
