Project
The project aims to contribute to SDG #4 by providing and opening space for quality education for people of all ages, ensuring educational opportunities from initial literacy to other subjects such as mathematics, science and languages.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Onboarding space with partner representatives to understand the current scenario, beneficiaries and discuss about the outcome of the project
Engaging children in interactive learning. Use of cards, gestures, illustrations for better perception of new words
Communicating with children in English. Use of simple and clear vocabulary in accordance with age-specific characteristics
Helping to organize the play environment (laying out materials, maintaining order, creating a favorable atmosphere for play and learning)
Getting to know the children. Conducting interactive games to create a trusting atmosphere and establish first contact
Assistance with daily living needs (dressing, undressing, washing hands, eating)
Ensuring the safety and comfort of children. Constant monitoring of the safe stay of children in the space, timely response to their needs
Create an implementation plan on how the project should unfold and determine materials to be used
Preparing the activities that will be done in the following weeks and receiving feedback from the partners and AIESEC
Run the initial assessment needed for measuring the outcome/impact of the project
Introductory session with the beneficiaries, presentation of the volunteers and project objectives.
Week 2
Setting up a creative systems to increase the math knowledge of the beneficiaries "Creative Math" (puzzles, games, group activities)
Dynamic: Setting up the "Book Club", present the books to be cover during the project and explain the dynamic to the beneficiaries.
Dynamic: Introduce beneficiaries to basic vocabulary and phrases in a new language through engaging and interactive games. (eg. Games like Scrabble, Pictionary, or Charades)
Ensuring the safety and comfort of children
Assistance in everyday needs
Conducting classes and activities (exercises, interactive games, team tasks, fairy-tale trips)
Introducing the basics of socialization. Helping children to establish communication with each other through games and joint activities
Assistance in organizing the play environment
Organize a quiz show-style activity where teams of beneficiaries answer questions related to math, vocabulary, or general knowledge.
Setting up a buddy system for the beneficiaries to track their development
Week 3
Preparation of a report on the results of the work. A brief analysis of the tasks performed, recommendations for improving the work for future volunteers
Ensuring the safety and comfort of children
Assistance with daily needs
Assistance in organizing the play environment
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Participation in planning classes and organizing various events. Initiative in proposing new ideas for children's development
Weekly "Creative Math" Meeting
Weekly "Book Club" Meeting
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Organization of the final event - a themed day, performance or theatrical game using the material studied
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Conducting English classes in mini-groups (up to 7 children). Each group has a separate topic (animals, colors, emotions, transportation, etc.)
Involvement of children in simple STEM activities. Experiments with water, magnets, creation of simple structures
Week 4
Assistance in organizing the play environment
Expanding the topics of classes. Include new topics such as nature, professions, family
Deepen interactive learning. Use of multimedia materials, video lessons, interactive games
Ensuring the safety and comfort of children
Assistance with daily needs
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Weekly "Creative Math" Meeting
Weekly "Book Club" Meeting
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Involve children in theater productions. Staging fairy tales and dialogues in English
Work on group projects. Creating joint presentations, collective creative works
Week 5
Weekly "Creative Math" Meeting
Ensuring the safety and comfort of children
Assistance with daily needs
Assistance in organizing the play environment
Involving children in research activities. Study of nature, experiments with plants, water, light
Conducting integrated lessons. Combining English with math, logic and creativity
Organization of outdoor activities. Quests, sports relays, game competitions
Run lessons based on the needs of the student or the school (maths, reading skills, foreign language, etc).
Run dynamics to strengthen what was learned in the lesson of the week. (math games, speaking club, lab practice, etc)
Weekly "Book Club" Meeting
Run weekly tests to assess main learnings from the week
Week 6
Preparing and conducting the final event. Presentation of the acquired knowledge through a performance, concert or exhibition of works
Assistance in everyday needs
Closing day with beneficiaries
Debrief the impact of the project, how the beneficiaries developed, discuss about what went well and even better if and include this in the report
Involvement of parents in activities. Conducting an open lesson or family game
Assistance in organizing the play environment
Ensuring the safety and comfort of children
Collect data from beneficiaries (you can use surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.)
Analyse data to determinate outcome/impact results (level of awareness of beneficiaries post-project activities).
Build final project report and presented to AIESEC members and NGO/non-profit representatives.
Developing recommendations for further training. Preparation of useful materials, selection of resources for children's development after the program
Assessment of children's progress. Preparation of brief characteristics for parents, analysis of language skills development
