António Casanova is currently the CEO of Unilever Jerónimo Martins. His previous career included CEO of Optimus from 2000 to 2005, Executive Board Member of SonaeCom and of SonaeSierra and consultant at McKinsey.
He is the President of APAN – the advertiser’s Association – and President of CAEM (the media monitoring joint industry committee). He is a member of the Advisory Board of Nova University – School of Business and Economics – and a Governor of St. Julian’s School in Carcavelos, as well as member of the General and Advisory board of Observador (the online newspaper) and of the Fiscal Committee of Make a Wish Foundation. His previous non-executive career includes member of the Board of Público – the leading reference newspaper – and member of the Supervisory Board of Eurocash, a major distribution chain in Poland. He is also an active Business Angel.
António is a graduate of the London School Economics, MBA from Nova University and Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.
