CONTRIBUTION
Mr. Heinz Allenspach has not just attended a meeting in Stockholm in 1949. He attended this
congress with the belief and determination to convince his Student Union and School that this
initiative – that at that time could not be recognised an organisation but an idea – was worth
investing in with time and reputation. His effort resolved in AIESEC in Switzerland joining AIESEC
in 1951 at the Congress in Paris. Looking back we are tremendously grateful for his initiative that
not only supported the foundation of AIESEC as an organisation but our country to join. Mr. Heinz
Allenspach demonstrated his passion for the development of our communities and its individuals in
various ways.

for the apprenticeship areas, General Secretary of the Swiss Employer Union and Redactor of the
Labor Publications, Principal and Delegate of the Swiss Labour Union from, Member of the National

Mr. Allenspach had a positive
social impact through the belief of creating and maintaining dialogues between various stakeholders
and the ongoing effort in initiating forces for the development of education and the
community.
The remodeling of the pension
system included the determination of the wife’s pension being dependant on her husbands among many
other changes. This had a great effect on the struggle for equal women rights in Switzerland. Also
Mr. Allenspach’s support and initiative to for the accreditation of higher schools of education in
the 70’s had an impact that leaves its trace till today. Wherever Mr. Allenpach’s journey took him
he initiated change through new initiative groups, foundations, boards etc.
Rather than having one or two
projects that would stress those two areas he incorporated them in his every effort and action. For
an example Mr. Allenspach pushed and supported social partnerships in the 80’s,when such
initiatives were not yet very common, and achieved to establish a platform for communication
between employer and employee that resulted in almost no strikes and a communication culture that
allowed differences in opinion but never the disappearing of opportunities for consensus.
In numerous efforts with
uncountable achievements on local level as well as on national level. Founding such a variety of
institutions and bodies on local, cantonal and federal level left a definite mark. As achievements
on political and social political level are to mention the co-ordination and leadership of the
taskforce for a remodeling of the pension system that was started and passed against the intentions
of the Federal Council and for sure also the social partnerships that were created in the 80’s with
the support of Mr. Allenspach.
